World Nature Conservation Day

July 29, 2022 7 min read

Nature is a gift and very often we end up taking it for granted. Water, air and soil play an important role in keeping us nourished. Celebrated on July 28th every year, World Nature Conservation Day is a reminder that a healthy environment is the foundation of a healthy and flourishing civilization.

Conservation simply defined is the care and protection of our natural or existing resources so that they aren’t misused and go extinct ahead of time. Conservation includes mindful consumption of resources, avoiding pollution and exercising control while using these resources. Conservation is similar to preservation, but while both relate to the protection of nature it is still different in several ways. Conservation is concerned with the balanced use of nature by humans, for our survival we have to ensure that we don’t misuse natural resources by causing permanent damage. Preservation on the other hand means we can save something from harm, for instance, a monument can be corroded over time and needs to be preserved.

Conservation in this sense is the responsibility of each and every individual.

World’s chocolate is getting over..

Isn’t this a scary thought? This year, ‘Nature Conservation Day’ is addressing the issue of chocolate being no longer available for consumption. Cacao plants are present in pockets around the globe. They grow near rainforests and need humidity, rain and warm weather to sustain growth. The ongoing global warming has become the reason behind the shortage of the plantation. The scare that we may run out of chocolates in years to come is real. If this is bothering you then don’t fret,

How do we conserve nature?

The less water you use, the less we are going to misuse the water reservoir. Water conservation will allow us to save the important natural resource for survival

Plant a tree
Plant a tree Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change. The main reason why Cocoa plant is running in extinction and planting trees can help save environment

Avoid wasting food
Food contributes to massive pollution. Please avoid hoarding or overconsumption. One of the simplest ways to avoid food waste is to buy less.

These are simple tips but when followed sincerely can help bring a lasting change.
